Acoustic Survey

The Acoustician can provide a full workplace acoustic assessment to recommend effective acoustic solutions to new builds or remedial plans for problem areas.

Independent Chartered Ergonomists offer a range of assessment packages including:

Online workstation assessment service

The On-line Workstation Assessment Service (OWAS) is a streamlined ergonomics assessment platform designed to resolve 95% of workstation ergonomics issues remotely.  It is a system created and powered by qualified and Chartered Ergonomists.

The service is rapid and low cost and is designed to complement your existing display screen equipment risk assessment (DSE Assessment) process.  OWAS aims to provide organisations with support in dealing with more complex cases.

The process is very simple:

  • user submits an online pre-assessment questionnaire, which takes only 5 minutes
  • ergonomists conducts a swift review of the user’s responses and follows this up with a telephone consultation directly with the end user
  • user receives on-the-spot advice, guidance and fixes to reduce the risks to health and wellbeing
  • consultation is followed up with an easy-to-use summary report documenting the findings and recommendations from the assessment
  • where specialist equipment is required we can assist in sourcing and supplying the most appropriate product for the user.
Walkthrough Display Screen Equipment (DSE) set-up

The Walkthrough DSE Set-Up has been designed to provide a quick way to increase awareness of good ergonomics.

A Chartered Ergonomist would visit the office to conduct a walkthrough of the work areas to provide advice and guidance on workstation set up and posture.

Compliance DSE assessment

Compliance DSE Assessment has been designed to ensure compliance with the DSE assessment regulations, in force since 1992. This process acts as a preventative measure and delivers expert advice quickly to employees.

  • all employees would be visited at their workstations
  • assessment of their workstation set-up and posture would be provided
  • on-site changes that can be made would be completed by the ergonomist on the day
  • a summary report would be provided for each individual employee outlining any relevant recommendations
Complex DSE assessment

Where a standard DSE assessment will not suffice the Complex DSE Assessment may be required. This is usually required where individuals have more complex issues that cannot be resolved with the quicker compliance assessment.

  • the employee is consulted in detail regarding their discomfort and its sources
  • the workstation is then assessed in detail
  • advice on posture and set up is provided
  • on-site changes that can be made are completed on the day
  • a comprehensive report with recommendations is provided
Wellbeing survey

The Wellbeing Survey has been designed for when an organisation would like a detailed survey to be conducted to help benchmark the level of well-being within their organisations.

Tools and methods would be used to meet the requirements of the organisation; a detailed survey would follow with a comprehensive report outlining findings and recommendations.
